A touch of Spring

Tue Apr 18, 2006, 10:08 PM

Spring seems to be making headway here. At least that's what the yellow and blue flowers popping up everywhere in our garden suggest. That and the roses going green and leafy again.
Oh, and the fact that we can actualy sit outside and enjoy the sun occasionally. ;)

My girlfriend's reacting well to her medication, so at times it's easy to forget she has a heart problem. Sadly if she forgets herself she tends to end up dead tired. Still I guess things could have been a lot worse.

We are planning to see a cardiologist this Friday, who can hopefully answer some of opur long term questions such as: will she be allowed to go back to work?; will she be allowed to fly?; will she be allowed to go to the gym; etc... Simple questions for most of us, but for a heart patient, it's a little bit different.

Me? I think I'm coping pretty good. Things are not as bad asa they could have been, and I'm an optimist down to my marrow.

Oh, I also spent some more time with ~hya, ~Gilli and ~HGChris around Holland. I got some nice piccies in the Zuiderzee Museum I hope to upload. ~hya and ~Gilli already started uploading, so check out their galleries. You may even recognise me ;)

I'm glad to hear your girlfriend is doing well. I hope the doctor can answer some of your questions. I know how easy it is to forget that you have a medical problem when you're doing well. I think the only thing that reminds me during that time is taking the meds everyday.

You should enjoy your garden! Unlike me who lives in a second story apartment, you get to see all the beautiful flowers.

Yay for new pictures! :boogie: I can't wait to see them. ^_^

Thanks. :) What kind of meds are you taking?

Asthma meds, alergy meds, and one for the acid in my stomach. I grew up being called a walking medicine cabinet.

Sounds bothersome, especially the asthma/allergy bit. Glad to hear the meds work, though

It can be at times, especially when I get a nasty cold, but they're jsut something I've got to live with. It's not so much allergies and I get congested really easily, so I have to take meds for that. Thanks sweetie

I bet the cardiologist says everything in moderation (thats what we get told), your girlfriend will learn her limits exersice wise (heart children can be a bit overexuberent and end up going blue...which can cause a bit of a stir....until they learn to slow down when they are tired)

Most people with heart conditions can fly without any issures but fr some airlines you have to get a cardiologist to sign to say she is fit to fly then the next hurdle is medical insurance ;)

I hope everything goes well for you both on friday =)
