After a brief exchange of text messages with directions I managed to locate ~flumpie and friends on the Leidseplein in Amsterdam around 6PM. As usual people look different from how you picture them, even with photos of them floating around.
Our first stop was a little dim-sum place for a bite to eat. We washed the snacks down with Tsingtao beer and chatted. Once the beer was finished, we mosied down to the Rembrandtsplein and had fun taking shots of the Nightwatch statues. This is a large group of life-size figures taken from the Nightwatch painting. It soon became evident, that many tourists enjoy having their picture taken with one or more of these characters.
Our next stop was l'Opera where I introduced our friends to the delight of Wieckse Witte (Dutch white beer), We then had a couple hours of more talk (world affairs, cameras and how to nearly get arrested in London), drink and toying with the four cameras we had with us. The weather was kind and when we called it a night at 11PM the temperature was still nice enough for wearing a shirt, rather than a coat or sweater.
By now they should be enjoying Irish cuisine. I wish them fun.
